Questions before your stay

Everything guests usually ask about Book Tahoe: arrival, the house, winter driving, the lake, and the local rules that keep Incline Village a good neighbor.

Booking & Guests

Up to 10 guests, including children. This is the maximum on our Washoe County short-term rental permit, so we can’t make exceptions.

The house has 4 bedrooms across two floors: BEDROOM 1 – BED SIZE, BEDROOM 2 – BED SIZE, BEDROOM 3 – BED SIZE, BEDROOM 4 – BED SIZE.

Two bedrooms and a full bath are on the lower floor. The primary bedroom, a second bedroom, the kitchen, dining and living room are on the upper floor, which opens onto the deck.

Yes, families are welcome. We provide CRIB / HIGH CHAIR / BABY GATE. The house has stairs between floors and a hot tub on the deck, so little ones need an adult close by. Children may only use the spa with an adult present.

PET POLICY – e.g. “Up to 2 dogs, $X pet fee” or “Sorry, no pets. Service animals are always welcome.”

If you bring a dog, please don’t leave it outside alone. Bears and coyotes live in the neighborhood.

No. Events, parties and gatherings with outside guests aren’t allowed at the house, and only registered guests may be on the property.

CANCELLATION POLICY SUMMARY. For winter trips we recommend travel insurance, since storms can close the roads into Tahoe.

Yes. The Wi-Fi runs at about SPEED Mbps, enough for video calls. Mountain storms occasionally cause short outages, so a phone hotspot is a good backup.

Arrival & Parking

Check-in is at CHECK-IN TIME and checkout is at CHECKOUT TIME. Ask us a few days ahead about early check-in or late checkout; we’ll say yes whenever the cleaning schedule allows.

The front door has a SMART LOCK / KEYPAD. We send your personal code WHEN before arrival, and it works from check-in time on your arrival day.

There are 3 paved parking spaces in the driveway, so please bring no more than 3 vehicles. Street parking isn’t allowed, and in winter cars on the road can be ticketed or towed for snow plowing. County rule

There’s no room for RVs, trailers or boats.

Reno-Tahoe International Airport is about 45 minutes to an hour away over the Mt. Rose Highway (Hwy 431), longer in snow. We recommend renting a car. Rideshare service around the lake is limited, especially at night.

Yes. Raley’s in Incline Village is about MINUTES minutes from the house and has everything you’ll need. We recommend stocking up on arrival day.

The House

  • Bed linens and bath towels for every guest
  • Toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap and dishwasher pods
  • Shampoo, conditioner and body wash
  • Starter coffee AND TEA
  • A fully equipped kitchen: pots, pans, dishes and basic cooking supplies
  • WASHER / DRYER, BEACH TOWELS, OTHER EXTRAS

FIREPLACE TYPE AND HOW TO USE IT

AC: YES / NO. Like many homes at Tahoe’s elevation, summer nights cool down quickly, and opening the windows in the evening usually keeps the house comfortable.

BBQ TYPE AND LOCATION. Please check current fire restrictions before any outdoor flame, and never leave the grill unattended.

GARAGE: GUEST USE / OWNER STORAGE

Hot Tub

The hot tub is on the rear deck, for registered guests only. It’s heated and ready when you arrive.

  • Put the lockable cover back on after every use.
  • No glass in or around the spa.
  • Children may use the spa only with an adult present.
  • Keep it quiet after 10 pm. Sound carries far in the mountains.

The tub loses heat quickly if the cover is left off on a cold night. If the water is still cool after a few hours with the cover on, or the panel shows an error, contact your local host and we’ll send our spa technician.

Winter & Driving

From November to April, we strongly recommend a 4WD or AWD vehicle with snow tires, and carrying chains in any car. Chain controls are common on Mt. Rose Highway and around the lake during storms.

Check road conditions before you drive at nvroads.com or by calling 511.

PLOW SERVICE DETAILS – who plows and when. Please keep cars in the three driveway spaces and off the street so plows can clear the road.

Diamond Peak is in Incline Village, about MINUTES minutes away. Mt. Rose is about 25 minutes up Hwy 431, and Northstar is about 30 to 40 minutes. Allow extra time on storm days.

Your safety comes first, so please don’t drive on closed roads. Message us as soon as you can and we’ll check whether the house is free for another night.

Lake & Outdoors

Incline Beach, Ski Beach and Burnt Cedar Beach are private beaches run by IVGID for residents and their registered guests. BEACH ACCESS FOR THIS HOME – e.g. “A recreation punch card for your stay is in the house” or “Beach access isn’t included with this rental”

Public options nearby include Sand Harbor, about 15 minutes south (arrive early in summer), and Kings Beach, about 10 minutes west.

No. Wood-burning fire pits and campfires are prohibited in the Tahoe area because of wildfire risk.

Local favorites include the Tahoe East Shore Trail to Sand Harbor and the Flume Trail. More of our picks are in the house binder.

Lake Tahoe stays cold year-round, even in August. Most people wade in on hot summer afternoons. Watch children closely; the water gets deep fast and cold water tires swimmers quickly.

Bears & Trash

Yes, black bears are common in Incline Village. They’re usually shy, but they are very good at finding food.

  • Lock your car and never leave food or coolers inside it.
  • Close doors and windows when you leave the house.
  • Never feed a bear or leave food out to photograph one.
  • If you see a bear, stay inside or give it plenty of space. Call 911 only if someone is in immediate danger.

All trash goes in the BEAR BOX / WILDLIFE-RESISTANT CART, never on the deck, porch or in your car. Pickup is on DAY.

House Rules

These come from our Washoe County short-term rental permit. Breaking them can lead to fines for the property.

  • Maximum 10 overnight guests.
  • No parties, events or outside visitors.
  • Quiet hours 10 pm – 7 am daily, indoors and out.
  • Park only in the 3 driveway spaces. No street parking.
  • No wood-burning fires outdoors.
  • All trash in the bear-resistant container.
